About
Maple & Marker is a homeschool resource site for parents who are teaching at home and would rather spend the evening with their family than building a lesson plan from scratch.
Planning that survives a real week
Most homeschool planning advice assumes the week goes as written. Ours does not. We publish scope-and-sequence guides, loop schedules, and record-keeping templates designed around the reality that someone will get sick, a co-op day will run long, and a unit that was supposed to take a fortnight will take five weeks. Recovering from a lost week is a skill, and it is one we write about deliberately.
Printables with a purpose
Every worksheet and practice page here is filed by the skill it develops rather than by how it looks on a shelf — letter formation, number sense, phonemic awareness, handwriting fluency. Knowing what a page is actually for makes it far easier to tell whether your child needs another one or has already moved past it.
Materials are written for a normal home, a normal budget, and a parent who is not a trained teacher. Age and grade labels are starting points, not standards to measure a child against. Some links earn us a commission — see our Affiliate Disclosure.
